Follow-On To TOW

Follow-On To TOW (FOTT) Follow-On To TOW (FOTT) is a fire-and-forget, low cost, dual-mode, heavy assault tactical missile system designed to advance anti-tank weaponry beyond the Tube-launched, Optically-tracked, Wire-guided (TOW) missile currently produced by HMSC for the U.S. Army, the U.S. Marine Corps and 39 allied nations. Developed by an integrated product team (IPT) composed of a number of highly competent team members including AlliantTechSystems, Gencorp Aerojet, MOOG, and Watkins-Johnson, the Team Hughes innovative approach is centered on low risk, low cost customer-focused weapon system development. FOTT will complement TOW on existing weapon carriers and will offer a defense against advanced 21st century armored vehicles. To ensure peak performance on a variety of missions, the FOTT low-risk design combines tried-and-true elements of the TOW missile with leading edge features, such as gimbaled seekers, integrated optics and advanced motor technologies. FOTT's many advancements are aimed at improving upon TOW's proven track record and ensuring HMSC's leadership role in the production of low-cost, highly reliable anti-tank weapon systems.
